The Big Mix

In this workshop, the artist involves participants in an exercise. Like a game, several pieces of waste polystyrene must be put together to create a 3-dimensional form. This totem of waste is “decorated” by participants with collages and brushstrokes in a variety of colours, and then covered with icing.

On the first day, participants will experiment with paper and paints, creating brushstrokes and cutting them out. The next day, these cut-outs will be glued to the surfaces and decorated in sugar paste dyed with various colourings. The idea is to create a series of plural surfaces on which various textures and marks blend and interact with each other.
