Visible Body – Cesariny in a Swimsuit
With Keli Freitas and composition students from the Lisbon School of Music (Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa) and visual arts students from the University of Algarve (Universidade do Algarve)
What if this text were a song? What if this music were a painting? What if this painting were an action? What if this action were a space? “Visible Body”, the title of Mário Cesariny's first poem, is a project that aims to develop a process of mediation and transdisciplinary artistic creation with students from two art education institutions in Lisbon and Faro, the cities where BoCA 2023 takes place, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Mário Cesariny's birth.
The project is a process of enquiry, research and artistic collaboration, linking different artistic territories (poetry, music and visual arts), two national geographies (Lisbon and Faro), two higher education institutions (Lisbon School of Music and the University of Algarve), and two cultural venues where the result of this process is presented (MAAT and Faro Municipal Museum).
Building the project brings together Composition students from the Lisbon School of Music and students from the University of Algarve’s Visual Arts Degree, who devise a hybrid format between concert and installation, with the artistic coordination of playwright, actress, and director Keli Freitas.
