Temporality and Civic Space
Consider temporality as the quality or character of what is temporary, provisional or transitory.
Celebrating the reopening of maat and the debut of Beeline, the museum-wide architectural intervention designed by SO – IL, this conversation wants to debate the role of this kind of ephemeral practices and the role of cultural spaces in the city: as amplifiers of messages and contents or even as enhancers of civic and public space, eventually taking into account the role of temporality in contemporary architecture and society.
The participants in the conversation, curated and moderated by João Belo Rodeia, will be Florian Idenburg and Jing Liu (SO – IL studio founders), connecting from New York City, Ricardo Carvalho, Filipe Magalhães and Ana Luísa Soares (Fala Atelier), Bárbara Silva and Roberto Cremascoli, and you can see it live at Beeline’s Stage 1 and via live streaming on maat’s YouTube channel.
All events happening on site have limited seating capacity in compliance with the distancing rules in force, and they are offered on a first come first served basis.
