Sensory Art Workshop
Where do we come from, where are we now, and where do we want to go?
How does our body feel a living work of art? Based on the exhibition Our Boat Drum Earth by Brazilian artist Ernesto Neto, we will travel through time and space to understand what separates and unites continents, what rhythms move us, and what ideas intersect. In this experimental visual arts workshop, we will learn to ‘see’ art (and the world) through our bodies and using all our senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch.
Through small challenges and the creation of collective immersive maps, we'll research different cultural identities to create networks, detours, and intersections with sound, smell, and touch.

Creative robotic devices - ArtBots
02/09-06/09/2024
Art and Robotics Workshop
We're going to develop robotic mechanisms and systems that allow us to express ourselves artistically through drawing, sound, light, and movement. Inspired by the exhibitions currently on show at MAAT, we will explore the concepts, themes, and challenges that the works suggest by making robotic instruments powered by algorithms we create ourselves. Creative machines that draw, react, produce sounds, and help us understand the world around us. The unexpected, the error and uncertainty will be present... They all have their place, allowing us to learn from and be impressed by them.
