K CLUB
A performance by Ari Benjamin Meyers with Violet, Dj Tennis

K Club is a musical situation staged for one visitor only at a time. A neon sign marks the entrance to a dance club, the exhibition space is designed accordingly. An important aspect of the work is the waiting: visitors are randomly assigned a number and they are only allowed in if their number is called by the bouncer. The work relates to one of Meyers’ oldest works as an artist: Solo (2009), with an opera singer and one audience member in a small room.
