Distant Lights / Metal Bodies
Performance by Cláudia de Serpa Soares
Invited by the artist Nuno Cera and within the scope of the exhibition Distant Lights, the performer Cláudia de Serpa Soares presents Distant Lights / Metal Bodies, a site-specific performance that cohabits with the works presented, establishing possible (or impossible) relationships in space and time. Wandering through the exhibition space, the intervention of the body in the space's architecture reacts to Cera's photography and installation, creating a new narrative line about these places in the Sines region. The sound composition by Eduardo Vinhas is based on a compilation of recordings that Nuno Cera made in Sines, while recording the film Distant Lights, and now has an arrangement by Jeff Wood made specifically for this performance.
The artist would like to thank Jeff Wood and João Valente.
