As one of the most ordinary yet most symbolic of objects, associated with metaphors of wisdom and sin, and good and evil, apples have been converted into genetically modified and commodified objects – beautiful but nutritionally deficient. The aim of these talks is to dismantle the “default” status of the narratives which have influenced visual culture and subsequently constructed the subject and its relationship with the environment.

In other words, we will discuss the subject’s disconnection from nature and how this turn of events has occurred in dialogue with the themes of the exhibitions on show. The apple will act here as a device to help us see and talk over the course of 5 themed visits.
