Conversation in movement
With Didier Fiúza Faustino and Susana Ventura

In this “conversation in movement”, Didier Fiúza Faustino and Susana Ventura will take you on a journey to discuss the body as a guerrilla space: questioning limits, norms, habits, actions, and its position within a world which, as the body itself, is in constant change and revolution, between existence and resistance. The dialogue will also highlight the contemporary discourse of Faustino’s works about the issues of our time. Over the years, Faustino’s practice has anticipated the most critical problems that we are still facing today, proposing unconventional perspectives and defying the body’s status as an individual and basic unit of the collective.

Susana Ventura (Coimbra, 1978) has a degree in Architecture (darq – FCTUC, 2003), but prefers to dedicate herself to research, writing, and curatorship, crossing architecture, art and philosophy. She holds a PhD. in Philosophy (Aesthetics) under the scientific supervision of José Gil (FCSH-UNL, 2013), and is currently a contracted researcher at the Centre of Studies of Architecture and Urbanism of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (CEAU-FAUP). She was an Invited Assistant Professor at University of Minho (2018-2022) and University of Évora (2019-2021). Among several exhibitions, she curated Utopia / Dystopia (with Pedro Gadanho and João Laia, maat, 2017), The House of Democracy: between Space and Power (Casa da Arquitectura, 2018), Mariana Caló and Francisco Queimadela. Radial body, by (Galerias Municipais, Lisbon, 2020), and, recently, Tiago Baptista. The Tale (Rialto6, Lisbon, 2022). In 2014, she was awarded the Fernando Távora Award (9th edition) and took part in the Portuguese official representation at the Venice Architecture Biennial. Among several publications, her texts can be regularly read in the art magazine Contemporânea.
