MAAT is celebrating its 10th anniversary and invites the general public to enjoy two days of special programming and free admission (Sunday and Monday, 4 and 5 October), with access to exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, talks, performances, and activities for all ages.

Over the course of these two days, visitors will have the opportunity to explore four new exhibitions at the museum:

Guests can also revisit Margarida Correia – Mais Alto; Turn Around. A look at the EDP Foundation Art Collection, and explore the iconic Electricity Factory, a testament to the industrial heritage of the former Tejo Power Station.

Between Margins Project

5 October | 16.00–18.00  |  Praça do Carvão, MAAT Central

A series of presentations and activities developed as part of Between Margins project, a MAAT communication project in partnership with Mensagem de Lisboa, a laboratory of urban creativity where six young creators become storytellers, looking at the museum and the river, the city and its banks:

16.00 | [correspondences] — by MAx Provenzano

Two typewriters, linked by a continuous roll of paper, establish a circuit of communication. The activity invites the public to write, reply and pass on messages, transforming writing into a collective exercise in dialogue and sharing.

16.00 | Setting the Table — by dualgo

Visitors are invited to sit at the table, chat and write messages about MAAT and the city on a paper tablecloth. The initiative transforms a moment of socialising into a space for participation and the building of collective memory.

16.00 | Time Machine — by Bruna Varela

The poet types out the poem Espelho on a typewriter, establishing a link between the mirror and the poem, both installed on the outside of the container.

16.00 | Guided Tour — by Nuno Trigueiros

The artist leads a tour of his work, sharing the references, concepts and creative process that inspired it.

16.30 | Guided Tour — by Ivone Fernandes-Jesus

The artist leads a tour of her audiovisual project, presenting the context, inspirations and development process behind the work.

17.00 | MAAT in Services (DJ set) — by Vileiro

Vileiro presents MAAT in Services, a project that blends architecture and phonography, demonstrating the authenticity and relevance of everyday services.
